Also, there’s a portrait of the countess within the book although whether or not this portrait is the actual surviving portrait of Countess Bathory is questionable. An all-pervading sulphureous atmosphere permeates the book, the eroticism – inevitable when part of the subject is deviant sex – is veiled and never excessive, and the use of mostly indirect speech adds plausibility to the narration.
Unfortunately, the Countess started to find relief in mistreating her young waitresses, until her violent moods and frustrated sexuality got out of control. At times, the book loses your attention through its rather monotonous approach at explaining individuals and their histories, but there’s enough blood Still a vathory of discrepancies amidst sangriebta historical atrocities of The Blood Countess.

The authors created a mishmosh elizabdth a book with little organization and constant jumping between subjects. Readers seeking a sober recounting of history will not find it in this book. In a secret underground room like a crypt, Darvulia, with the patience of a practiced sorceress, drew circles and signs according to the inner grammar of her necromantic ken, not for an instant straying in that labyrinth of baneful, black geography.
